Plot Summary: Summer in Hawkins, 1985

The Mind Flayer has found a new host in Billy Hargrove. It uses him to “flay” other residents of Hawkins . The creature builds a physical body from the melted flesh of its victims . This abomination stalks Eleven, the only one who can stop it .

In the finale, “Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt”, the Mind Flayer attacks the mall food court . The creature nearly kills Eleven before Billy sacrifices himself . He redeems himself by impaling his body on the Mind Flayer’s tendrils . He dies in Max’s arms .
